Yellow Door Studio – Terms and Conditions

General

Welcome to the Yellow Door Studio online shop. We want your shopping experience with us to be as amazing as possible. If there’s ever anything wrong, please get in touch with us at help@yellowdoor.studio and we’ll do whatever we can to fix it. We want all of our customers to be happy. We have two distinct sets of terms, one for stock items and one for custom items, which reflect the different processes and re-sale value of these items. Payment terms apply to all orders.

Stock item orders

  1. Shipping
    • Where a shipping method has been chosen, in stock items will be shipped in 3-4 business days. We will notify you by email when the items are shipped.
    • Items will be sent by the Royal Mail parcel service. If your order contains multiple items, they may be shipped in separate packages, but we’ll try to avoid this.
  2. Collection
    • Where you have chosen to collect your items, they will be available for pickup from the studio in 3-4 business days. We will notify you by email when your items are ready for collection.
    • Please feel free to say “hi” and see the studio when collecting your items, assuming we’re in! (Please don’t break into our house if we’re not!)
  3. Cancellation
    • Stock item orders can be cancelled at any time before shipping for a full refund.
  4. Returns and refunds
    • Stock items may be returned and refunded for up to 90 days for any reason, providing they are undamaged and unused.
    • Where items were shipped to you, we will cover return postage costs.
    • Please get in touch with us before returning your items at help@yellowdoor.studio to discuss your return and obtain an RMA.
    • Items to be returned should be shipped to: Yellow Door Studio, 29 Edgehead Road, Pathhead, Midlothian, EH37 5RL. You can also drop them off in person, if preferred.
    • If you’ve passed the 90 day mark and something goes wrong with your product (it develops a fault, for example), please get in touch. Our products should last for years, providing they’ve been treated right.
    • Refunds will be made as soon as possible after we’ve received any returned goods, and within 2 weeks at most. (It should be quicker than that, but we might be on holiday!)

Custom item orders

  1. Lead time
    • Custom orders take between 3 and 4 weeks to make. If you’re ordering for a specific occasion, please make sure to give enough time for us to make it!
    • Depending on the kiln cycle, we might be able to do it faster. Get in touch at help@yellowdoor.studio and we’ll see what we can do!
  2. Shipping
    • Where a shipping method has been chosen, items will be shipped in 3 to 4 weeks, as soon as they are out of the kiln. We will notify you by email when the items are shipped.
    • Items will be sent by the Royal Mail parcel service. If your order contains multiple items, they may be shipped in separate packages, but we’ll try to avoid this.
  3. Collection
    • Where you have chosen to collect your items, they will be available for pickup from the studio in 3 to 4 weeks, as soon as they are out of the kiln. We will notify you by email when your items are ready for collection.
    • Please feel free to say “hi” and see the studio when collecting your items, assuming we’re in! (Please don’t break into our house if we’re not! Even if you did order a custom dog bowl set, we don’t want burgled by custom order customers either!)
  4. Cancellation
    • Custom item orders can only be cancelled if we haven’t started working on them. Depending on the point at which can order was recevied, this might be as short as five minutes after the order was placed and as long as a few days. Please get in touch at help@yellowdoor.studio as soon as you can and we’ll try to help.
    • Even if we have started, we might be able to work something out, so get in touch rather than being annoyed.
  5. Returns and refunds
    • Custom orders can only be refunded if faulty. Our products should last for years, providing they’ve been treated right.
    • Where items were shipped to you, we will cover return postage costs.

Payment

  1. Payment is due in full on placing your order.

Data usage

  1. We will never sell your data or pass it to a third-party, except where required to fulfill your order. (E.G. Shipping items to you requires us to pass your name and address to the Royal Mail so they don’t just wander around shouting “Did anyone order a ceramic tumshie?”)
  2. Your data will be held securely by us.
  3. If you want us to remove your data, please let us know at help@yellowdoor.studio and we’ll delete anything we hold.
